Did you watch the 2021 NCAA College women’s basketball championship? The Stanford Cardinals played the Arizona Wildcats in a historic game between two Conference rivals who had already place twice.

The Wildcats were down one point with 6 seconds to go in the game. They had the ball but couldn’t convert. Time ran out and the Cardinal wins.

After the game, they asked Arizona’s coach, Asia Barnes, about the last heartbreaking moments of the game. She said;

“Against great teams like Stanford, we have to be a little bit better at the small things. It doesn’t ever come down to the last shot. It comes down to the missed free throws down the stretch, the foul on the three-point shot, getting the turnovers and not converting. It’s those things. It’s never the last play, but it obviously just stings pretty bad.”

Losing can have a detrimental impact on our future efforts to win.

If the team spends every day focusing on the last mistake they made, they will be grossly unprepared for the next season.

So the challenge becomes: Don’t be crippled by your last shot

Winning has to be the byproduct of wholistic Preparation.

Every action matters.

This week, we will have the choice to labor on what we lost or focus on how to win.

So this week, every play matters.

Discipline is the name of the game.

1. This week, Don’t be lazy.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 – Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

2. Prioritize God over your plan

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.

On Sunday, March 28, 2021, I was honored to speak at the Little Flock Church in Redwood City, CA. My sermon focuses on the life of Joseph and how God always made lemonade out of lemons in his life. My prayer is that those who listen will know that God’s plan isn’t paused because of bad seasons in our lives. God’s will is ALWAYS IN PLAY. He gives us victory through a disaster!

God has already given you the grace to start over. This episode examines the experience of Orpah to highlight some foundational insights for starting fresh in your life.

I want to share some principles for fighting the fear of competing. I want to give you 5 things you’ll need to advance in your life, ministry, relationship, profession, and entrepreneurial journey.

First, let me go over what this episode is NOT about.Not about competing for things that don’t belong to you. Not about the competition that is free of integrity Not about competition birthed through jealousy

The principle I’m going to share is most beneficial for those:considering career advancement Working to develop/sustain/grow a business Considering intentional dating Considering/wrestling with starting a ministry or accepting a calling

David: From the outside looking in, David is under-qualified to fight GoliathHe’s not a fighter He doesn’t have the appropriate equipment He doesn’t have the confidence of his family or friends

There are 5 things that David had that will help us to walk boldly into our promise:

David was Confident.

David believed in his transferable skills.

Davide had a plan and protected it.

David didn’t lose sight of his Goal.

David was available.

We don’t say enough about the courage it takes to start a business! In this episode, I wanted to make space to honor the work and sacrifice of Black leaders, business owners, and entrepreneurs. I pray that this blesses those who listen and that they share with others.

This is a message I had the privilege to preach at my church in Sacramento, CA on Sunday, January 31, 2021. The audio was recorded by the Progressive COGIC Media Ministry.

The message centers on the experiences of King Josiah, who at the young age of 8, became King of Judah. Although he was not positively influenced by his predecessors, he did what was right in the sight of the Lord. I share some of the nuggets God gave me through my studying.
